Captain Dan's "Go-To" Walleye Trolling Spoons
When we're tournament fishing or have clients out on the water, we can't tolerate equipment failures or a lot of missed strikes. The components in our spoons have been developed or chosen to ensure that we don't have to!
How To Fish Them-
It's no secret that spoons catch walleyes! They are one of the most versatile and easily fished tools in a walleye troller's arsenal - and have long been a popular choice for Lake Erie's Western Basin angler's. Over the past decade, they have also become the primary bait on many charter boats operating on those waters throughout the summer.
They perform well at speeds as slow as 1.8 MPH or as fast as 3.5 MPH when pulled behind diver disks, Jet Divers®, in-line weights or on downriggers or lead core. For our money, no other bait out there is as versatile or as consistently productive on these waters. If you're not already using them, you need to give them a try. If you are using them, you need to try Captain Dan's "Go-To" Walleye Spoons from Tight Line Tackle to be even more productive.
Our favorite way to fish them in the relatively shallow waters of Western Lake Erie is to attach them to a Big Jon ™ Mini Disk or a Luhr Jensen ™ Jet Diver with a 4' fluorocarbon leader. Let that out the desired length, then attach the main line to an In-Line Planer board and let that drop back into position. It's that simple!
If you're still a bit apprehensive, why not consider an educational charter with Captain Dan. That will give you the chance to see and do all this with an expert before going solo.
